Trading Standards
Trading Standards support businesses and the public, with the aim of ensuring that the highest standards of quantity, quality, price, description and safety are maintained. They provide free guidance to businesses in Hampshire on how to comply with trading standards.
Advice is also available on civil and criminal law; quality assurance; standards; unfair competition; labelling and advertising.

The aim of the scheme is to help businesses comply with the law, whilst improving consumer confidence and protection. There are a range of benefits from becoming an ‘Approved Member’ of the scheme, including use of the logo in advertising material and a listing on the scheme’s website. (A full list of benefits and further information is provided on the website.)
Costs associated with the scheme do vary across local authority areas but for Hampshire Districts this is typically £100 per annum, per premise (including VAT).
