Hints and Tips for Nominations

Read the criteria

Are you nominating for the correct category? Please read the criteria carefully before deciding which category is most relevant to your nomination.

You can nominate in more than one category but make sure it meets the eligibility criteria.  (Eligibility for categories 1-3 is dependent on length of time a company has been established).

Act early

Give yourself time to prepare the application!

Make the most of the nomination form

You have the freedom to prepare your entry in any format you wish, so decide how best to present the information well. If there are several headings to be covered, use those headings as sections in the final document.

Use appropriate language- the panel may not be experts in the field in which you work, so ensure that what you write is simple for a lay person to understand. Translate technical phrases into simple English and ensure that the panel members will be able to understand the context and the benefits you offer as a company.

And finally . . .

  • Ask someone to read the criteria, then to read your nomination. Ask them to  find three ways to improve its chances of success
  • Ensure that the nomination has impact, both in content and presentation terms
  • Ensure that you have included all the necessary items, e.g. testimonials, pictures, contact details
