Gosport Community Safety
The Council’s Community Safety team works with the Police, Fire Service, Hampshire County Council and the Health Services to reduce crime and tackle anti-social behaviour within the Borough.
If your business is affected by crime and/or anti-social behaviour, there are a number of services available to you. The 101 Service is a 24 hour telephone number, which can be used for reporting all non-emergency crimes, such as vandalism, fly tipping or noise nuisance. All complaints are registered and forwarded to the appropriate Council Department or the Community Policing team for them to deal with. Click here for more information on the 101 Service.
All other crimes should be reported to the Police to ensure that the appropriate action is taken and that the incident is logged. The latter helps the Police identify ‘hot spots’ or patterns of criminal behaviour that can be targeted – in some cases this can assist in preventative action being taken.
If you are considering building a new premises or extending your existing premises, it is possible to design your building with security and crime prevention in mind. Visit http://www.securedbydesign.com/ for advice and guidance.
Hampshire Police also offer excellent advice on how to take measures to protect your business from all types of crime. Click here for practical information to help yourself.
