Building Control Resources

Gosport Marina signBuilding Control Services are responsible for controlling the quality of all building work in Gosport.  They approve work on both commercial and domestic properties, whether they are new or existing, to ensure that it meets regulation standards.

If you need to apply for Building Regulation approval for a shop, factory, office, hotel or boarding house you will need to make a Full Plans submission.  This will ensure any building work complies with National Building Regulations and that you are issued with the necessary Approval Notice.  Charges for a Full Plans application are payable in two stages: a plan fee must be submitted with the application and, once works commence, an invoice will be issued to cover the cost of the inspection fee.

Building Control Services will examine all Full Plans applications within 15 working days.  The Surveyor dealing with your application will be appointed and an acknowledgement of the application made within 5 working days.  Pre-submission consultancy is always available, with fully qualified professional surveyors on hand to offer independent advice on your plans.

The Building Control team also have responsibility for road and postal naming, reviewing the demolition of dangerous structures and reviewing disabled access in buildings.
