MATiSSE SMART COMMUTE WEEK 2009 will take place from 2nd to 6th November.
More sustainable working-practices will help you:
- Save on commute-costs and stress
- Participate in location-independent working - e.g. home, remote or Smarter Working Centre based
- Explore other more sustainable travel methods - from car share to cycling and from car clubs to walking to work
- Reduce business travel through use of web-conferencing tool
It only requires one in five of each employer’s workforce to work from home or work flexible hours at least once per week (e.g. one day in five), or for your business to reduce business travel mileage by 20% (e.g. one meeting in five) or commute by alternative means (car share, cycle, bus, park &ride, or train), once a week, to achieve the MATiSSE Smarter Working Initiative 'one in five'aim of reducing peak-time traffic volumes by, you’ve guessed it, 20%.
