Mabway academy developing into a centre of excellence

The Mabway Academy based at the Gosport Business centre, is rapidly developing into a centre of excellence who specialize in bespoke niche training.
A successful milestone, was the recently delivered Electrical Power Management course to the marine industry with representatives from Sunseeker, Wightlink, Meridian Marine Management, OSG Ship management, Finning’s, Hanson Marine and P&O Ferries attending, amongst others.
All attendees were impressed with the courses which involve the use of a simulator to create a hands on practical environment to train ships crews in the prevention of vessel blackouts and power loss. An element of classroom based theory on the latest technologies & regulations completes the course.
While visiting the centre the Marine companies were shown Mabway’s Training facilities which deliver Part P, PAT testing & 17th Edition courses to the Electrical Industry, in Mabway’s own specialized Electrical workshops. There are also Engine workshops where all Mechanical Training is done.
Mabway is an EAL & RYA accredited Training centre, where companies can often negotiate preferential rates. A spokesman for Mabway said “There appears to be a lot of interest from companies trying to prevent a massive skill loss in the shortest time possible, many engineers today lack the skills of engineers in days gone by”
