New project launced to support the construction industry
05/01/2010
A new project has recently been launched by the Southampton-based Environment Centre called SISCo (Solutions for Implementing Sustainable Construction). The project aims to improve the sustainability of construction, targeting local authorities and SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises).
The Environment Centre (tEC), has yet again been successful in obtaining European Union
funding to assist in the crucial fight against climate change.
The aim of the SISCo (Solutions for Implementing Sustainable Construction) Project is to overcome the barriers to the implementation of sustainable development policy by embedding social, economic and environmental sustainability principles into the local authority planning process. It is also aimed at enabling Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) construction companies to access and share this knowledge and understanding, as well as having a single point of contact for information on the suppliers and experts in providing such products and services to local builders.
For more information, contact the Environment Centre on 02380 336199 or visit the website.
