Fareport provides new training opportunity for young people of Gosport
08/08/2010
Fareport Training Organisation goes live with its brand new Foundation Learning Programme on August the 16th, giving 14 – 19 year olds in Gosport a head start in their careers.
The course offers young people the chance to study for Level 1 qualifications in Customer Service, Business Administration, Retail and Health & Social Care.
Fareport is also promoting its Level 1 Employability Skills Award or Certificate. A National report, carried out by the Learning and Skills Network in 2008, found that in a survey of 1137 Senior Managers the majority said that work-essential skills are what they look for in job interviews, often over vocational skills. They ranked communication skills, literacy and numeracy and timekeeping as the most important.
This Foundation Learning Programme is the culmination of a two year pilot project, of which Fareport was one of only a handful of Hampshire schools, colleges and training providers who took part. Students will also gain qualifications in Functional Maths, English and I.C.T. and Personal and Social Development skills.
Fareport is also proud to be working in partnership with Gosport College and will be delivering a Level 1 Hairdressing qualification from their state-of-the-art Salon on Gosport High Street.
