Community Investment
15/12/2011
The Community Investment Award recognised the important contribution a business can make to a community and this year’s two winners are known and valued by the local community for providing employment and training opportunities for local residents. They have also invested in community-based initiatives through staff involvement or financial contributions.
Biscoes Solicitors set up in Gosport in 2005, and have worked hard both business wise and in the community. They provide free weekly advice sessions, discounted fees for service families and also support community events, such as the Sultan Show. They are also sponsoring the refurbishment of a building to help create a sports development education centre for 16-19 year olds in Gosport.

Langdale Nursing Home is a family run business which has been caring for the local elderly and vulnerable for over 37 years. In order to provide such excellent care, they not only invest in training for their own staff, they also provide regular work experience and work placement opportunities for local people. They also use a wide range of local services, from window cleaners and gardeners to hairdressers and butchers, all helping to support local traders.
