Big Day Out - leaflet now published!

The organisers of Gosport’s Big Day Out have now confirmed the date for this year’s event as Sunday June 13.
The Big Day Out, now in its third year, has become a major fixture in the Gosport calendar with thousands of local residents enjoying what the Borough has to offer.
The event follows the formula established last year in which local tourist attractions provided free or heavily-discounted entry to local residents. In addition, a range of local sports and venues opened their doors to provide ‘taster’ sessions to encourage people to have a go and try something new.
The event will include regular favourites such as:
• A family Treasure hunt which gives those involved the chance to discover some interesting facts about Gosport
• Scenic trips along the seafront on an open top bus
• A display from HM Coastguard
This year there will also be afternoon activities on Stokes Bay Green including a Maritime Bus will be offering families a great opportunity to “dive” into maritime archaeology with interactive computers and games plus a range of fascinating artifacts. There will also be a "Get in to Golf Funshow" giving young and old alike a chance to test their skills and win prizes.
New participants include St Vincent College and Brune Park Community College who are offering the change to sample a range of FREE leisure and sporting activities.
The evening’s musical entertainment will kick off at 4pm on Stokes Bay Green. Compered by Rick Jackson from Wave FM and with leading tribute band Abba Rival headlining, the night promises to be great fun for all ages!!
